Wee Play Class Descriptions
Wee Play’s goal is to provide innovative, caring, and fun opportunities for parents and children
to play together. A Wee Play teacher leads each of the age-appropriate activities,
while the parent tailors the content for their own child’s needs. Wee Play
organizes all activities, and children bring their natural instincts and curiosity. For parents, Wee Play offers the convenience
of a well-planned and rewarding class of educational playtime with their children.
Classes
meet once per week for a series of weeks.
Wee
Play Toddler (walking or almost walking - 20 months)
(45 minutes) The Toddler program will resume in the fall.
Pee
Wee (18 months - 26 months)
At this age, many
children are ready for the gentle structure a Pee Wee class provides. Classes are theme based; the circle time and art
project may reflect a weekly theme. Pee Wee classes combine 5 segments in each class.
- arrival/table
time with bean containers, play dough, and other manipulatives for fine motor play;
- a short circle time with puppets, props, songs,
instruments, finger plays, and stories;
- an open-ended art or craft project;
- active play with hoops, balls, poms, paddles, obstacle courses, parachute, ride-on toys, games, etc. for gross
motor skill development;
- and a snack and stickers!
(50 minutes)
Wee Play (2s and 3s), (2 - 5 year olds)
Our original and
most popular class - often referred to as "preschool prep." We hear our Wee Players wake up many mornings asking if it
is a "Wee Play" day! So much fun - a very special time for parents or caregivers and their children to spend together.
The consistency of the format and the routines helps to develop school readiness.

Wee Move (3 - 5 year olds)
We like to move it, move it! And move it we will,
for 45 minutes of non-stop fun. In our latest addition to the Wee Play class schedule, children ages 3 - 5
will enjoy playing with paddles and balloons, bean bags, balls, hoops, ride-on toys, hockey sticks, obstacle courses, balance
equipment, the roller coasters, basketball hoops, streamers, the mini trampoline, see saws, the parachute and plenty of active,
organized games. Children will be moving and developing their gross motor skills as well as working on balance
and stability and basic movement skills such as running, jumping, galloping, hopping and skipping, and fundamental motor
skills such as throwing, catching, striking, and kicking. Parents or caregivers may participate with their child
or stay on site. (no story or snack in this class
