Wee Play Class Descriptions
Wee Play’s goal is to provide innovative, caring, and fun opportunities for parents and children
to play together. A Wee Play teacher leads each of the age-appropriate activities,
while the parent tailors the content for their own child’s needs. Wee Play
organizes all activities, and children bring their natural instincts and curiosity. For parents, Wee Play offers the convenience
of a well-planned and rewarding class of educational playtime with their children.
Wee
Play Toddler (walking or almost walking - 20 months)
Let's get
moving! With their new-found mobility, children love to explore and discover for themselves the way objects behave in
space as the children manipulate them. Called "Heuristic Play," from the Greek word 'eurisko' meaning to
discover (Eureka- I have found it!), a wide variety of mostly natural materials - wooden balls, pegs, metal cups,
rings, stones, tubes, and wooden and metal containers - are freely explored. Then, it's time for lots of balls,
hoops, poms, the parachute, ride-on toys, and other active play equipment to run, chase, and do what comes naturally to this
age group - have fun!! Perfect for their age and abilities. Finally, we gather around the parachute for lap rides,
songs, and bubbles.

Pee
Wee (20 months - young 2s) **This will become 18 - 26 months in the fall session and run for
50 action-packed minutes.
At this age, many
children are ready for the gentle structure a Pee Wee class provides. Classes are theme based; the circle time and art
project may reflect a weekly theme. Pee Wee classes combine 5 segments in each class.
- arrival/table
time with bean containers, play dough, and other manipulatives for fine motor play;
- a short circle time with puppets, props, songs,
instruments, finger plays, and stories;
- an open-ended art or craft project;
- active play with hoops, balls, poms, paddles, obstacle courses, parachute, ride-on toys, games, etc. for gross motor
skill development;
- and a snack and stickers!
Wee Play (2s and 3s)
Our original and
most popular class - often referred to as "preschool prep." We hear our Wee Players wake up many mornings asking if
it is a "Wee Play" day! So much fun - a very special time for parents or caregivers and their children to spend together.
The consistency of the format and the routines helps to develop school readiness.

Same format as Wee Play but for mixed ages; perfect for siblings!

Wee Just Want to Play (ages 2 - 5) New
at Wee Play!
No circle time or art project in this class, let's just move! Perfect for the active child
or those looking to add more movement in their child's day. After a few minutes of play at the bean tables for
fine motor play, we'll zoom around the active play area. We'll play with balls to develop kicking and throwing
skills, use paddles and hockey sticks, manuever through obstacle courses, drive the ride-on toys, play active cooperative
games, dance a bit, explore movement, then run, gallop, and hop our way to the finish line.
We'll end with high-fives all around to our friends for a great workout!

Kindergarten Enrichment - Magnificent Minds
New at Wee Play! Magnificent Minds reflects Wee
Play's philosophy of learning through playful activity. Class will meet weekly and provide experiential learning through
scientific inquiry, dramatization, art, and movement. Small class size will enable participants to explore topics in-depth,
while having fun playing games, creating, and developing higher thinking skills. The program makes its debut with Its
Magnetic; a comprehensive science-based curriculum that will encompass the hows and whys of magnetic attraction.
Parents do not need to remain on-site for this class.
